Hi, I’m Rachel Elias—Level 1 Sommelier, lifelong wine nerd, and the voice behind The Purfect Pour. My wine journey began in restaurants, where I fell in love with how a great glass could elevate a meal, spark a conversation, or even tell a story.
Over two decades in the industry taught me that wine doesn’t need to be intimidating to be exceptional. Through my graduate research, I discovered the powerful and often overlooked impact women are making in the wine world—especially in leadership and sustainability.
That’s why I started The Purfect Pour: to spotlight those voices, offer relatable wine education, and create a place where we can sip and learn together. I’m currently working toward my Level 2 Sommelier certification and dreaming up future virtual tasting events to bring us all together, no matter where we live.

Created by Rachel Elias, a seasoned wine professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience, this space grew from her graduate thesis focused on women in wine and their influence on sustainable leadership. That academic journey opened the door to something bigger: a need for a welcoming, inclusive space where wine lovers of all levels could learn and grow—without pretension.
